Edward E. Fredrikson, Jr., President, oversees the daily marketing operations of Northeastern Representation Corp. (NRC). These include promotion of products, rep. management, purchasing and communication with manufacturers.
Ed’s experiences with the working knowledge of hardware began with an Associates degree in machine tool technology. After working in the field for three years, Ed went back to school to pursue a bachelor’s degree in marketing. These two degrees are what set the stage for a career in hardware sales.
Ed worked for the first 14 years of his career as an independent Rep. for a fastener company. This assisted him in establishing the knowledge and the importance of developing consistent sales calls to build strong relationships.
Based on the rapid changes in the hardware industry, eight years ago, Ed decided that with the decline in sales and service from distribution and the large number of independents based in New England, there was a need for a service agency.
Manufacturers who understand the benefit of face-to-face sales, along with skilled merchandising abilities have seen exponential growth in this market due to our efforts. Our work in the field also creates a pull through effect on warehouse sales and places programs with dealers more rapidly.
Dianna L. Fredrikson, VP/Office Manager. Dianna has been with NRC for the past 12 years. Dianna’s primary responsibilities include all aspects of the company financials and daily office operations.
Dianna has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Maine. She has also completed various bank/lending classes.
She was previously employed for 18 years for a financial institution. Her primary functions involved management of overall branch operations for a 10 million dollar branch and a staff of 12 employees. Dianna was also responsible for all Mortgage and Commercial Lending. She was the Senior Officer in charge of the bank loan audit committee and a member of the Charitable Committee. Dianna served as VP and Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Kennebec Valley YMCA. Dianna presently coaches High School Girls Cross Country Running.
Brian C. Black, VP/Buyer. With the added responsibility of distribution, managing the inventories and new product implementation, Brian Black who has been with NRC for the past 13 years, was the best choice to fill this position. Brian started with NRC in merchandising stores and then in sales throughout New England. His experience of every aspect that involves NRC operations was critical. Brian understands the field work as well as the product selection. He has proven himself to be a tremendous asset to the company and the future growth of NRC.
Dennis Marshall, Sales Manager. Dennis Marshall has been with NRC for the past 7 years. Dennis brings wealth of knowledge to NRC. He has spent his career working in the hardware industry from clerk in the store to managing multiple stores. He has been a fastener rep. and an ACE Rep. Dennis’ daily feedback insures that NRC is always trying to meet the needs of our customers in the Hardware stores.
